Christmas is coming people! Orchard street filled with beautiful lights, people busy shopping for their christmas gift and as well as the air is filled with the season of love.

Beside that the most important is to remember what God has done for us. By coming into this world in the humanly form just for you and me. Sometime when I just look at God perspective of my life, I am just so small, beside being small we are also sinful yet He choose to send His Son to die for us.

Is a season where we come to thank God for His love that came so humbly just to redeem shameful sinner like us.

Hey N283!! Im here to revive this blog!! There's lotsa dust and spider web here already. Hopefully everyone will come and update this blog regularly once again and you can share hows everything for you or even revelations you have from God. Lets encourage one another through the blog. Also please let me know if you have prayer request or you could also update the prayer section on your own. Lets keep updating the list and keep praying for the CG and one another. Prayer really works wonder. Lets Pray until something happen.

Just want to say last week CG message is really good and lets really have more quality in our fellowship.. Let us really build up each others' life and know more about one another. Fellowship is in fact really very important cause it will keep all of us connected. Also, let us really continue to be 100% after God's heart. It is only when we are really 100% after God, things then will start to happen. We will then experience growth in the CG easily. Things will just work out for us.. Seek Him first and His righteousness and all things shall be added to you. We really got to stop giving excuses about things and start doing something. We really got to question ourselves, indeed how much we love God, are we willing to sacrifice for Him, are we willing to obey what He wants us to do? When was the last time we bow down on our knees to worship him wholeheartedly, telling God how much we love Him. Lets really get back the first love and be on fire for him again. Let this fire keep on burning and let us not be complacent.

Really hope to grow this CG together and also that the CG will unite as one, having the same vision as what Huitian and the leaders have, supporting one another in the things.

Dearest N283!

I'm back!
I had this revelation when I thought about "why Christians who supposed to be joyful aren't as happy as those who weren't saved?" Is it that we have more things to adhere to? More things to think about? More expectations to meet? Or it's the relationships? Or just the problem with ourselves?

Daily, we face many ppl who press the hot button, even ourselves who knew it but press it.
Love God, Love people, is not easy.
Some ppl we just can't stand them. Sometimes we can't stand ourselves too.
Making wrong decisions, saying the wrong things, etc.
Hope this really helps us to be happier people towards being ourselves and serving others:)

Be merciful

He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the LORD require of you But to do justly, To love mercy, And to walk humbly with your God? -Mic 6:8

1. To yourself

As Christians, we need to strive for excellence, but not perfectionism. It is an emotional sickness.

Excellence is just simply doing our best.

God loves us with his agape love. He is merciful to us by sending Jesus to die for us.

for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed -Rom 3:23-25

God loves us even if we are not perfect. It's not conditional which is based on one's performance rather than on one's being. Therefore, a perfectionist cannot be happy in this state of mind because nothing he ever does is perfect and therefore not good enough—and he can never feel loved for who he is.

Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.- Mat 5:48

What then does "perfect" in the bible mean? It means complete, whole or mature.

In other words, being perfect, is progressive. A baby doesn't mature immediately and talks like a 40 year old man. Similarly, being perfect is a process. Slowly, as we abide in Him, we bear the fruits of being perfect.

He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit - Jhn 15:5

Only to be release from this "perfectionism" mindset, that we truely can have the joy of the Lord.

2. To your neighbours.

"You shall love your neighbor as yourself" has appeared at least 9 times through the bible.

(Lev 19:18, Mat 19:19, 22:39, Mrk 12:31, Luk 10:27, Jhn 13:34 Rom 13:9, Gal 5:14, Js 2:8)

And in Mrk 12:31 is it said that, "There is no other commandment greater than these."

A friend loves at all times -Pro 17:17

It is regardless of what he/she does. We are not perfect and we do not expect others to be perfect too.

3. To your enemies.

It's easy to love those who love you- like your family, your siblings, your friends, your bf/gf.

Anyone could do that.

What makes us so different then?

“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you -Mat 5:43-44

In the book of 1 Sam, Saul attempted to kill David twice. But he was preempted. However, David did not kill Saul even though God was with Him and delivered his enemy into his hands. That's what David said to Saul:

And indeed, as your life was valued much this day in my eyes, so let my life be valued much in the eyes of the LORD, and let Him deliver me out of all tribulation.” -1 Sam 26:24

What shall we do then?

They have also surrounded me with words of hatred, And fought against me without a cause. In return for my love they are my accusers, But I give myself to prayer. -Ps 109:3-4

Pray that...

1. We are not afraid to be merciful.

Say to those who are fearful-hearted, “ Be strong, do not fear! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, With the recompense of God; He will come and save you.” -Isa 35:4

2. We will not be weary of doing good.

And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. -Gal 6:9

3. We will forgive and love- give them what they need, not what they deserve.

And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses. -Mrk 11:25

Therefore I say to you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven, for she loved much. But to whom little is forgiven, the same loves little.” -Luk 7:47

4. We will do these (stated above) depending on the joy of the Lord.

Do not sorrow, for the joy of the LORD is your strength. -Neh 8:10

Just wanna share with you this song:)

It reminded me of how much Jesus loves us, regardless of what we've done or not done.

Sometimes, life is so full of ups and downs..
Everything single day is full of decision making, the right and wrong choices..
Happy or sad..

Still, we can always choose to praise Him, regardless of our circumstances..
Whether we pull through or not.. Cos it's just a matter of time.. He promised:)
Let us rejoice and be thankful of everyday that the Lord has made for us!

Precious Promises and Answers to Problems

Hey my dear N283! Im here to blog! Hmm, was just going through some stuffs in my file where i kept so many stuffs that i received in the past such as cards and letters and all. Saw this piece of paper that i printed out last time with the title, Precious Promises and Answers to problems. It actually applies more for examinations but i think it will also apply in life somehow. So here it is. I would like to encourage those who are having exams now including myself.

Before examinations:
I am so worried about this particular subject:

"Have no anxiety about anything, but in everything, by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made to God. And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, will keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus." Phil 4:6-7

My mind cannot concentrate during revision:

"You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You." Isa 26:3

I cant even sleep peacefully nowadays:

" I lay down and slept, I awoke, for the Lord sustained me." Ps 3:5

I am physically and mentally fatigued:

" But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint." Isa 40:31

There is no hope for Im too far behind to catch up:

"Why are you cast down, O my soul? Nad why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him, who is the help of my countenance and my God.: Ps 43:5

During examinations
I dont understand what is the question all about:

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths." Prov 3:5-6

Im too nervous to think properly:

"Peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you, not as the world gives do I give you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid." John 14:27

This question needs much wisdom and I dont have it:

"If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all men generously and without reproaching, and it will be given him." James 1:5

This question is really impossible to answer:

"If you can! All things are possible to him who belives!" Mark 9:23

After examinations
What will my results be like?

"Commit your ways to the Lord, trust in Him and He will act. Take delight in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart." Ps 37:4-5

Doesn't God care if I fail?

"Casting all your cares upon Him, for He cares for you." 1 Peter 5:7

yoohoo! after reading Ada's posts, I'm very encouraged. so I shall share my revelation with you all as well.

1 John 4:4 (NIV)

You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.

You know, we always quote this verse until it becomes something that is so stuck in our mind. But have we really thought about how it applies in our lives?

I've been very burdened about the cell group, not just the growth but also for all of you as individuals--whether you are doing well, whether u r still growing, whether you still love God as before etc. and there comes a point where i get negative about the situations before me. yes, yes. Huitian is human as well. i get negative and down at times too ok! haha. But last Tues during leaders meeting, as i was worshipping God, i really felt my mindset being renewed and this verse really came to be so true for me.

All the negative and limited thoughts come from the devil (the one who is in the world). so why am i having a negative and limited mindset when my God has already overcome the world? Why do i say i believe in God yet still carry this kind of attitude? All these just don't make sense right?
So that's when i decided to renew my mindset and trust in God for good things to come. and I'm really seeing a revival coming!!

N283, believe together with me and work hard to retain the harvest ok? Let's put on the mind of Christ amen?

I hope this encourages you, cos it did to me, especially in the midst of transition.

When I was reading the bible, I heard this voice that says...

Do not fear

1) for the Lord is with us

And the LORD appeared to him the same night and said, “I am the God of your father Abraham; do not fear, for I am with you. I will bless you and multiply your descendants for My servant Abraham’s sake.” -Gen-26:24

2) for the Lord has promised us

So He said, “I am God, the God of your father; do not fear to go down to Egypt, for I will make of you a great nation there. -Gen 46:43

‘According to the word that I covenanted with you when you came out of Egypt, so My Spirit remains among you; do not fear!’ -Hag 2:5

Look, the LORD your God has set the land before you; go up and possess it, as the LORD God of your fathers has spoken to you; do not fear or be discouraged.’ -Deu 1:21

3) for the Lord has interceeded for us

Only do not rebel against the LORD, nor fear the people of the land, for they are our bread; their protection has departed from them, and the LORD is with us. Do not fear them.” -Num 14:19

You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the LORD, who is with you, O Judah and Jerusalem!’ Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, for the LORD is with you.” -2 Chr 20:17

4) for the Lord is faithful to us

Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the LORD your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.” -Deu 31:6

And the LORD, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed.” -Deu 31:8

5) for the Lord is here to protect and save

Stay with me; do not fear. For he who seeks my life seeks your life, but with me you shall be safe.” -1 Sam 22:23

6) for the Lord was here for us and is here for us

And David said to his son Solomon, “Be strong and of good courage, and do it; do not fear nor be dismayed, for the LORD God—my God—will be with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you, until you have finished all the work for the service of the house of the LORD. - 1 Chr 28:20

7) for the Lord fights for us

Say to those who are fearful-hearted, “ Be strong, do not fear! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, With the recompense of God; He will come and save you.” -Is 35:4

“ Listen to Me, you who know righteousness, You people in whose heart is My law: Do not fear the reproach of men, Nor be afraid of their insults. -Isa 51:7

8) for the Lord gives us rest

9) for the Lord is our provider
“Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? ... ... For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. Mat 6: 25-27, 32

10) for the Lord has planned for us
And Samuel said to the cook, “Bring the portion which I gave you, of which I said to you, ‘Set it apart.’” So the cook took up the thigh with its upper part and set it before Saul. And Samuel said, “Here it is, what was kept back. It was set apart for you. Eat; for until this time it has been kept for you, since I said I invited the people.” -1 Sam 9:23-24

Therefore...

I'm so excited to share with you about Moses!!!

Cos he is a friend of God:)

And I believe we all wanna be God's friend! Amen?

Moses, A friend of God

What is a friend?
Friendship is a term used to denote (1) co-operative and supportive behavior between two or more people. In this sense, the term connotes a relationship which involves mutual knowledge, (3) esteem and (2)affection and respect along with a degree of rendering service to friends in times of need or crisis.

Friends will (5)welcome each other's company and exhibit loyalty towards each other, often to the point of altruism. Their taste will usually be similar and may converge, and they will share enjoyable activities. They will also engage in (7)mutually helping behaviour, such as exchange of advice and the sharing of hardship. A friend is someone who may often demonstrate reciprocating and reflective behaviours. Yet for many, friendship is nothing more than the (4)trust that someone or something will not harm them.

Value that is found in friendships is often the result of a friend demonstrating the following on a consistent basis: the tendency to desire what is best for the other, sympathy and empathy, (6)honesty, perhaps in situations where it may be difficult for others to speak the truth, especially in terms of pointing out the perceived faults of one's counterpart, mutual understanding.

7 characteristics of Moses's Friendship with God

1. Moses learnt from God as God taught him how to lead personally
So the LORD said to him, “Who has made man’s mouth? Or who makes the mute, the deaf, the seeing, or the blind? Have not I, the LORD? Now therefore, go, and I will be with your mouth and teach you what you shall say.” -Exo 4:11-12

2. God chose and believe in him when he doubt in himself
So the anger of the LORD was kindled against Moses, and He said: "Is not Aaron the Levite your brother? I know that he can speak well. And look, he is also coming out to meet you. When he sees you, he will be glad in his heart. Now you shall speak to him and put the words in his mouth. And I will be with your mouth and with his mouth, and I will teach you what you shall do. So he shall be your spokesman to the people. -Exo 4: 14-15

3. God still chose Moses to represent Him
And he himself shall be as a mouth for you, and you shall be to him as God.-Exo 4:16

4. Moses learnt to trust God
And Moses said to the people, “Do not fear; for God has come to test you, and that His fear may be before you, so that you may not sin.” So the people stood afar off, but Moses drew near the thick darkness where God was. -Exo 20:20-21

5. God and Moses had close relationship
So Moses went into the midst of the cloud and went up into the mountain. And Moses was on the mountain forty days and forty nights. -Exo 24:18

6. Moses was straightforward as a friend to God
Then Moses pleaded with the LORD his God, and said: “LORD, why does Your wrath burn hot against Your people whom You have brought out of the land of Egypt with great power and with a mighty hand? Why should the Egyptians speak, and say, ‘He brought them out to harm them, to kill them in the mountains, and to consume them from the face of the earth’? Turn from Your fierce wrath, and relent from this harm to Your people. Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, Your servants, to whom You swore by Your own self, and said to them, ‘I will multiply your descendants as the stars of heaven; and all this land that I have spoken of I give to your descendants, and they shall inherit it forever.’” So the LORD relented from the harm which He said He would do to His people. -Exo 32:11-13

7. God and Moses communicated personally (at least 104 times from Exo to Deu)
And it came to pass, when Moses entered the tabernacle, that the pillar of cloud descended and stood at the door of the tabernacle, and the LORD talked with Moses. -Exo 33:9
So the LORD spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. -Exo 33:11

Now it was so, when Moses came down from Mount Sinai (and the two tablets of the Testimony were in Moses’ hand when he came down from the mountain), that Moses did not know that the skin of his face shone while he talked with Him. -Exo 34: 29

Are you like Moses? A friend of God.

Dearest N283, EASTER is coming in just 2 days time!!! I hope all of you are still calling up and meeting all your friends. Let's not miss this kairos moment -- a great opportuniy to invite ur loved ones! As of now (8 Apr Wed, 12pm), we have 26 people ( 14 members and 12 friends) going for Easter services. Can we aim for 50 people in total?? Let's go for it my friends!! I'm counting on everyone of you to make things happen!

I'm thinking 50, praying 50, breathing 50, eating 50 and drinking 50.

50 it shall be!!

Dearest N283! This is my FIRST post! So excited to share it with you!

It's from Pst Kong's daily Devotion, but I thought this really administers to our cg as a whole:)
I've highlighted some points that touches my heart.

Many times we feel that our friends are not interested about knowing Jesus, cos they are always not free when we invited them, last minute they can't make it or become reluctant to come. We become discouraged. It seemed more and more difficult to reach out to them, but fret not, cos Jesus has succeeded!

Soul-winning Jesus’ Style
How did Jesus reach out to an uninterested generation?
He became a caring soulwinner. Jesus stepped into Simon Peter’s boat. By doing that, He immediately got into “Peter’s world.” The fi rst step in making a difference in a person’s life is to get into his or her world.

On the shore, Jesus was standing; but in the boat, He was sitting down. That means Jesus was not in a hurry. He was planning to fellowship for a while.

At that point, Simon Peter was very discouraged. He and his team had “toiled all night and caught nothing” (Luke 5:5). Jesus immediately saw a need and started encouraging Simon Peter. He motivated Peter to try fi shing again; this time, with the help of God.

I have found that no matter how hardened a person may be as an unchurched sinner, when he or she experiences your loving sincerity in (1) spending time to befriend them, (2) encouraging them by giving them a new vision and fresh hope, and (3) meeting their needs practically, then a fourth thing will naturally happen. (4) Peter gave His heart to Jesus and waswonderfully saved.

This is Jesus’ style of personal evangelism: First, you win them over as your friends. Then you win them over to the Lord.

WE CAN DO IT TOO!!! Let's believe for a great revival in the cell group and pray for a breakthrough! As said in His Word, "Where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them."–Matt. 18:20. A place of agreement is a place of power! Let's work towards our common vision! When we do our best, God will do the rest:) Let us honour our friends with our time, efforts, blessings, words of affirmation, etc! We honour people because the price of Jesus was paid for each individual and of cos, out of our love for our friends, ya? We thank you Jesus in advance! AMEN!

i am back here to blog.=)

wah recently been very very very busy with the submission of entry for various poly. As many of you know that I am changing course to do something that is related to what i want in future yea. I also might end up no place and have to stuck in RP to do science >.< no!!!!!! hahah Well this few weeks of decision making, I want to thank God for always guiding me! During this period quite stressed up by the course entry, many worries is up on my mind such as weather will I get into the course ect. But by worrying I can't grow even a cm, also since I can't do the least what is the point of worry? So I decided to tell God whatever that I have plan go ahead of me, be in control, use me as a instrument to do what He want me to do. However prov 16:9 motivated me. Romans 8:28 too!=) yea because of His great love and His great and precious promises I surrender all my plan=)

mean time there a lot of people keep saying ' wah luo 1 year already leh' or 'eh think abt it' hahaha. quite sian abt it esp those comment frm outside.

Last week alone is a tough week, because I am preparing my photo portfolio. Been very drianing. However thx God for strength and great ideas! Also my camera was with canon for servicing, however thx God that I managed to borrow a DSLR from my friend to finish up the remaining work.

During friday was going for my last lap for my portfolio, a lot of bad things happen such as having fever, while going to devlope my photo there is a massive jam on the express way. When I reach nyp I was 8 min late for submission and is the dateline and I will be dead. Thx God again because they extended the submission to monday and it was my last chance!! phew. Wooo didn't expect this to happen lor.

Sometime when all this kind of bad stuff happen we tense to draw away from God and blame on the situation. But looking back it was like learning how to depend onto God and not myself. Because in very situation God is still the same forever, the same loving God.

Hello my dears! this post is long overdue. haha. sharon beat me to write the first post!! maybe i should just delete her post so mine will be first in 2009. hurhur. but of cos im not so mean.
anyway, once again, i want to thank u guys for a great 2008. we've had our ups and downs but we remained together all this while. i always thank God for all of u!
so in this new year, i must tell you i'm very excited about it. after the first leaders' meeting that i had with Pst yesterday, it really ignited within me a deeper desire and hunger to seek after God even more. indeed it is so true that prayer brings revival. in 2009, one of my goals is to pray more and know God even more. Im very excited for this friday's cell grp cos i believe God is going to come and visit every single one of us and bring us up to a higher level. lets all come with a great sense of expectancy alright?

last but not least, I'm proud and excited to tell you that LOUD camp will be held during 2nd week of June (8-12 Jun). the days are not confirmed yet but it will still be a 3day 2 night camp. so start blocking out whatever activities u have during that week to come for this extraordinary camp! our next Emerge meeting will be held on 13 Feb, one day before Valentines' Day. haha. Note it down in your calendar too alright?

I'll see you guys this Fri for an exciting time in the presence of God!

Haha... Okie, let me be the one to revive this blog in this new year! Well, i just want to say thanks to all of you in N283 for 2008. Thanks to all who have gone through thin and thick with me. Always believing in me and encouraging me. Let 2009 be our best year yet and of course, i also want to see N283 do even better this year. That we will grow more closer together this year, fellowship more and grow spiritually together too. Those who dont have a ministry yet, i will encourage you all to perhaps start to think of joining one this year. Let it be a head start.

Like what Pastor Kong preached during the service that Ministry is one of the goals in every christian's life so yeah. Pray about it and think of what talents you have and you can use it to serve others. Also, all of us can start to pen down our goals for 2009 in our goal card already. Lets work towards our goals and perhaps, u people can add it to the prayer section so that we can pray for each other. I do not know what else to add to the prayer section so thats all i edited. Talent doesn't equal natural ability

Hello Fellow N283 troopers!!! (lol whatever)

Just wanna take this opportunity to thank everyone for participating the last Post make me famous party!!! I believe it was a huge success for us as a cg! Everyone performed their best and had an enjoyable time which is the most important. For many of us, it's like our first time performing in public and I am proud of everyone of you who had stepped out to perform!!! Great Job guys!!!

After the post party I have some thoughts in mind that I wanna share with you guys

First of all....this phrase which I would often hear from friends, members etc... "I don't have talent" "I cant do it, I m not talented"

To me personally, talent is something everyone can cultivate and achieve if they set their mind and heart on that particular talent they want.

When one refers to themselves as not talented...they often perceive talents as merely natural abilities...sometimes or most of the time...certain attributes are not given to your naturally..you will need to work hard to achieve them.

Here's the definition from Encarta dictionary regarding talent

Definition:

1. natural ability: an unusual natural ability to do something well, especially in artistic areas that can be developed by training

See...even the dictionary said it so clearly..it can be developed by training!!!!!

I have never considered myself as talented or gifted even though I can play the guitar. Unlike other musicians, some of them have this gifted ability where they are able to learn fast...I m not a fast learner and I m able to play guitar today because of the hard work I put in practicing. Believe it or not...there were times where I practiced up to 5hours or more a day.

So I feel...if you have an interest in certain skill for example, dance, singing, playing certain instruments or photography...go all the way out for it! I believe you will be able to achieve your goals and dreams. There is no such thing as not talented and you can't do it!!! The only thing that is stopping you is yourself and laziness. So stop doubting and start working hard!!! Our cg have many talented people around...lets go all the way out to make every second of our life count!!!

Remember if you just seat there and do nothing about your talents....you are as good as the person mention in the bible whom hide his talent underneath the ground...that doesn't please God and by not doing anything, you are robbing the people around you of being blessed by what God had placed in you!!!

Lastly... stop waiting for the day when you're good in your talent(s) then use it to bless others or showcase it!!!! the day will never come if you don't start taking small steps towards success!!! Many people have this wrong mentality that they must be good before they should step out and use their talents....by stepping out and trying you are actually taking one step closer to success...by waiting you are heading at the wrong direction and by the time you realized...you are too many steps AWAY from that dream you've.

Developing of our talents sometime requires us to be a little bit more "thick skin"...need us to lay down our pride...and just step out of our comfort zone!!! Even if you fall..it's ok!!! Learn from the mistake, never repeat it again and move on!!! Remember..Champions are not those who never fail..but those who never quit!!!

Hey N283! Im here to blog! haha! Firstly, Happy Birthday to Brandon yeah! haha. Yesterday what Pastor Kong preached is really awesome. It almost blown me away with all the research done on water and cooked rice. From now on, lets really say all the nice stuffs and encourage each other and form nice crystals. hehe.

But what he talked about the 4th dimensional living inspires me even more. Indeed we need to really believe,think,speak and visualise what we really want. Let us really visualise that N283 will grow and all the individual connect group will grow too! What u see if what u will get. Let us really renew our mind and start to see the cg growing in numbers. Similarly, whatever breakthroughs u all need, start to see them happening, confess about them and perhaps have a verse to support the situations u want. I believe it will help us greatly.

Lastly, i just thought of this, why not we have a prayer section here so that we can input what prayers we need and let us keep each one of us in prayer.

i actually teared a bit when i read ks' post! u noe a lot of times we do things not for people to see or to even expect anyone to say thank you or to appreciate. and thats y i get very touched whenever u guys say thanks to me or watsoever. i keep all these msgs in my hp!! i just want to say that i'm very proud of all of you who are taking part in Make Me Famous. for some of u, its the first time u are dancing, or playing a certain instrument in front of judges or audience. but u stepped out in faith and went ahead with the practices.

ks, i know its not easy for you to play the drum and there were so many times when u gabra or went off beat. but i really see ur efforts and hard work being put in. when i see ur disappointed face when u went off beat, all i could say in my heart was "kaishing, you can do it! dun be discouraged!" and tonight is the night when u can have only one go at it. and whether it was well done, or half done or sunny side up (not funny), i want you to know that i'm very proud of you.

Jieyong, even though you never tell the rest of the band members, but i know the sacrifices you have made. u forgo a lot of ur assignments (which meant a lot of ur income is gone), took time out just to coach ks' band and ren jie's band. i can clearly see ur fatigue these few days but u never complain to the band members. thanks for being so selfless and generous with your coaching and time towards the band members. they may not see it or appreciate it, but i want to say a big "thank you" to u on their behalf.

jasmine, it is ur first time performing the dance item for a competition. i noe u are tired physically and sore in many parts of your body and even have orh cehs. but u didnt complain as well. but u still took time out to watch and support ks' band. u thanked me for being there to cheer u all on when u were rehearsing. but i guess what i did was just a bare minumum compared to u all. i just want to say i love you and you are making a big difference to the lives of the new friends.

brandon, i'm very excited for u cos it is ur first time displaying ur talents to not only the judges, but also to me and the cg. i'm very proud of you. really. do your best k? know that i'm always supporting you!

liting, even tho its not ur first time dancing in front of such a big crowd, but it still needs a lot of ur time and effort to get things done. thanks for standing in the gap. u know i love you right?

dale, i noe this hasnt been a very easy time for you. but i thank you for pouring ur heart out to me. it has always been a privilege to me to be able to get into all you people's lives and i thank you for the trust that u have in me. i've never taken it for granted. Rem i'm always always ALWAYS around for you (not just Dale, but all of you. yes, even at 4am if u want to call me, jieyong. haha) and sometimes i may not be able to solve your problems, but at least u noe u have a pair of listening ears.

Hello guys! I guess many of us are busy preparing for the upcoming 'Make me famous' audition so here I am, wishing all contestants ALL THE BEST!!! Let us give our best shot on Tuesday. I'll be there to cheer you guys on and be sure to cheer for my group too!

Remember what Pastor Kong said about 'It is not about the destination but the journey'?
Sure, I would love to get into the final and win something. But believe me, I wouldn't exchange the moment spent together with my group mates for any thing.

Thank God I put off the idea of backing out of the dance group and get to meet two great dancers, Si Hui and Denise( Dale's friends).

Bear in mind that this is a competition organized by our church and there they are (new friends), traveling down to SMU for dance practices. Yesterday, we practice at LT's house till it was 3am yet not a single complain from our dear friends. Not to forget, Ks, Tian and JY were there too.

I think this is something we should learn from the two girls. Being responsible and going all out for our passion. *note to self*

For the past few weeks, I have been shuttling myself between work and practices. Even Catherine's (my friend) practice I was there to keep her accompany. Tiring it maybe but was all worth it. =) You get to learn a lot from people from all walks of life.

Right now our cell groups has a few dancers (LT and Ada), a drummer (Ks), guitarists (Jy, Brandon and Sharon) but I believe soon, more will be added. We will have so many talented people in our cell group that we can put up performances with our VERY OWN MANPOWER. AMEN??

For those who didn't participate for this round. Make sure you do for the next one! I promise you, you will have great fun like how I do!

And I think we ought to thank Wei yi who have been taking nice pictures for us. Thank you for lugging that heavy metal around to practices, parties and etc... just so we could have beautiful pictures to post up in our blogs, friendster and facebook. Your talent has blessed us in ways you might not know. =)

Seperated --- not ISOLATED

Here is another story that i hope, will inspire you to reach out. Lets really know the purpose why God has planted us in this world. N283, we can do it! You guys are the BEST! Enjoy! =)

Having spent considerable time on a deserted island, a marooned sailor was overjoyed one day to see a ship drop anchor in the bay. A small boat came ashore and an officer handed him a bunch of newspapers. "The captain suggests." said the officer, "that you read what's going on in the world, and then let us know if you want to be rescued!" The Christian has no such choice. We have been placed by divine decree in the midst of this world of trouble, sin, and distress. When God saved our souls by His grace, He could have transported us immediately into Heaven. At times we push the "panic button" as Elijah did and cry, "It is enough! Now, O Lord, take away my life." However, it is God's purpose that we should remain in the world -- not to be partakers of its evil deeds or to compromise with its iniquity, but to be display cases of His grace. Where we have sinned against Him, we are now left to serve Him.

God does not push us hurriedly into some Christian "compound" the moment we are saved any more than He removes us from the world itself. We are to be a separated people, but not an isolated one. Jesus prayed, "Keep them from evil.'' The Christian is to "keep [himself] unspotted from the world" (James 1: 27) and be an example of holiness. Sanctified by His Word we are to be both a "salt" and a "light" here where there is so much corruption and darkness.

Isolation would mean losing contact for witness; but separation from evil will result in a pure and powerful testimony.

O to keep unspotted from the world today,

This is now my goal, to walk the "Jesus" way.

arh people people recovered from fever ever since friday. yay been healed.

hahha okie..

heee been like in church and this cell grp for close to 6 mth. I am really glad that I been found and saved by the blood of Christ =) Before being a christian, I live my life with no sense of purpose and hope. Everyday of my life is just studying and sticking with my gf. Until then things become dark, gf left me for another guy even though i put in 100% for this relationship. During that period was in total darkness, very emotional.

Then during the mth of march I volunteered myself to go church service with one of my friend at Church of Singapore. During that youth service, I actually break down and cried in the presence of God and actually I felt better. A few week later being invited to easter service and I received Christ as my Lord and Saviour=), people the easter service is great right? say yes!! haha.

Last time when I was in kindergarden, I was in a christian kind of kindergarden. Eat must say grace, morning must sing song. My mum tell me when I was young I used to say grace (hahah i dunno that). Until then at p4 a christian tuition teacher reach out to me and pray for me, but I still don't know about this great and loving God.

Yes indeed God found me =) and I found the true love in my life. Who can resist such kind of love that is displayed on the cross for us?

Right now I am really happy =) Having a real God who lead my life. Who teach me how to live my life, also give me a sense of purpose. Also life is prefect with a perfect God who take care of us =) Yea not long after receiving Christ I took up photography course and I love it seriously. Also I see a transform in my life, bad habit like scolding bad word are more or less gone, being more respectful to parent, also living a life in righteousness in this material world.

God can indeed transform our life=) as long as we willing to look up to Jesus as our life role model =) yay!!!!!!!

I want to thank you all for the support u all give me n283. I must faster brush up my skill so by then I am confident enough to help to take wedding photo=) haha ya !

okok. i just wan to share something that God has been impressing in my heart. and its in the title... duh~ LOVE!!
the past few months whenever i do something, even small things like meeting members, calling them up, msning them etc, Ive been asked if those were done out of love. den i began to realise sometimes it is just so easy to fall into a routine. do i meet people cos its my job or cos i love them and want to meet their needs? and i guess it applies to us all. we always talk about the caring system. but sometimes is it really because u love the soul or u just HAVE to do it or else u'll feel guilty or it was cos someone asked u to?

i was just thinking of what to write then i began to look back and realised its so true. when u have love, you really can do many things. just imagine the things u did to win the girl's hand just because u love her. and how i asked my parents to church because i love them so much. how we all told our parents we were attending church even though we were scared stiff but because we love God too much, we just had the courage to do it. same thing with us inviting our friends to church. if we love them so much, why are we afraid to tell them the good news? if a certain someone didnt love us enuff to share with us the good news, i think we would still be somewhere in the world wasting our lives away.

so yeah... thought i could just share this with you all. i love you guys. like really? yeah REALLY.

YES! IT'S ALL OVER!!! The horrible diarrhoea that I was struck with, that left me feeling half living and half dead for the whole of last week has finally decided to leave me!

I literally crawled my way out of my house and down for cell group on Friday. It feels great to be back with you guys praising and worshiping God together!

By the way, I'm blogging at 5am. Tried to get some sleep but can't seems to. =(
Guess what am I doing apart from writing this entry??

Dear N283, I hope that this story here encourages you. It did for me, and made me realize the power of faith. That no matter what the adversity God indeed has a solution, we just have to believe in His awesome power! If God can do it for the people in the story, He can do it for you too! Enjoy reading. One night I had worked hard to help a mother in the labor ward; but in spite of all we could do she died leaving us with a tiny premature baby and a crying two-year-old daughter. We would have difficulty keeping the baby alive, as we had no incubator. (We had no electricity to run an incubator.) We also had no special feeding facilities. Although we lived on the equator, nights were often chilly with treacherous drafts.

One student midwife went for the box we had for such babies and the cotton wool the baby would be wrapped in. Another went to stoke up the fire and fill a hot water bottle. She came back shortly in distress to tell me that in filling the bottle, it had burst. Rubber perishes easily in tropical climates. "And it is our last hot water bottle!" she exclaimed. As in the West it is no good crying over spilled milk, so in Central Africa it might be considered no good crying over burst water bottles. They do not grow on trees, and there are no drugstores down forest pathways.

"All right," I said, "put the baby as near the fire as you safely can, and sleep between the baby and the door to keep it free from drafts. "Your job is to keep the baby warm."

The following noon, as I did most days, I went to have prayers with any of the orphanage children who chose to gather with me. I gave the youngsters various suggestions of things to pray about and told them about the tiny baby. I explained our problem about keeping the baby warm enough, mentioning the hot water bottle. The baby could so easily die if it got chills. I also told them of the two-year-old sister, crying because her mother had died.

During the prayer time, one ten-year-old girl, Ruth, prayed with the usual blunt conciseness of our African children. "Please, God," she prayed, "send us a water bottle. It'll be no good tomorrow, God, as the baby will be dead, so please send it this afternoon." While I gasped inwardly at the audacity of the prayer, she added by way of a corollary, "And while You are about it, would You please send a dolly for the little girl so she'll know You really love her?" As often with children's prayers, I was put on the spot. Could I honestly say, Amen? I just did not believe that God could do this. Oh, yes, I know that He can do everything. The Bible says so. But there are limits, aren't there? The only way God could answer this particular prayer would be by sending me a parcel from the homeland. I had been in Africa for almost four years at that time, and I had never, ever received a parcel from home. Anyway, if anyone did send me a parcel, who would put in a hot water bottle? I lived on the equator!

Halfway through the afternoon, while I was teaching in the nurses' training school, a message was sent that there was a car at my front door. By the time I reached home, the car had gone. But there, on the verandah, was a large twenty-two pound parcel. I felt tears pricking my eyes. I could not open the parcel alone, so I sent for the orphanage children. Together we pulled off the string, carefully undoing each knot. We folded the paper, taking care not to tear it unduly. Excitement was mounting.

Some thirty or forty pairs of eyes were focused on the large cardboard box. From the top, I lifted out brightly colored, knitted jerseys. Eyes sparkled as I gave them out. Then there were the knitted bandages for the leprosy patients, and the children looked a little bored. Then came a box of mixed raisins and sultanas -- that would make a batch of buns for the weekend. Then, as I put my hand in again, I felt the...... could it really be? I grasped it and pulled it out -- yes, a brand-new, rubber hot water bottle I cried.

I had not asked God to send it; I had not truly believed that He could.

Ruth was in the front row of the children. She rushed forward, crying out, "If God has sent the bottle, He must have sent the dolly, too!"

Rummaging down to the bottom of the box, she pulled out the small, beautifully dressed doll. Her eyes shone! She had never doubted! Looking up at me, she asked: "Can I go over with you and give this dolly to that little girl, so she'll know that Jesus really loves her?"

That parcel had been on the way for five whole months. Packed up by my former Sunday school class, whose leader had heard and obeyed God's prompting her to send a hot water bottle, even to the equator. And one of the girls had put in a dolly for an African child -- five months before -- in answer to the believing prayer of a ten-year-old to bring it "that afternoon."

It felt very encouraging to see everyone in the cg. Indeed the sharing session was great. Even though we're not a perfect group, but we're working towards perfection, for our God is perfect!

Wanna share some thoughts with you who is reading this post:

Having been in church for 3 years, I wondered how else I can contribute to the cg. I must say my emphasis is less on cg ever since joining my minstry. Really have the vision to do well in there-taking up leadership roles, training new members, transforming people's lives. Perhaps that's why I paid less attention to cg. When school started, it became worse with school work, hall life, preparation for events, family problems.. All in all, time is not on my side and my energy level depletes to the maximum. (Time for a spiritual health check) Having seen members enter and leave the cg, it felt even more unbearable, especially those that left are the ones who were once closer to me.

Recently, things took a turn. It's amazing how God works. God showed me how else I can contribute to a stagnating group. Like how HT assigns new roles of awesome designation for everyone of us. Whatever talents that we have, use it, and teach others what you know. No fear of losing out! Someone out there will become your mentor like how you yourself have become one. Learning is for a lifetime. When you teach, you also discover what you truly know, and what you appear to know. It sharpens your discerning skills.

At the same time, I prayed for the group to open up such that it's easier to share burdens. Am really glad for the supposedly 'prayer meeting' yesterday but it turned out to be a wonderful sharing session. Cg is a fun place to be in, especially in N283. I wish to be more connected to you guys... Be prepared to answer my calls at 3am haha...

I agree with what sharon just said in the previous post,that tday's cg is really good and we should do this more often.
and i also feel that we should really mke full use of our talents and abilities. should really get out of our comfort zone and do different things to max our potential and start making things happen and fulfil e cultural mandate.if new life church can do it,why not us? so yea,i really believe that there will be a great revival in chc as well as our zone and cg. N283 HUAT AR!! :D

Hey N283! Huat Ah! haha. Let me be the second person to start the ball rolling. Anyway, I am so happy that today turnout for CG is better. Yeah...Anyway welcome back sermin after such a long time.

Hmm.. just wanna say that today CG is really great. I could feel the presence of God. It is really great that the CG can come together to discuss our plans and i feel that we should do these more often and also to break the ice by talking good about each other. It's really great. Let us really start to carry out our plans and really believe that N283 will grow. Do not despise small beginnings. Even though our connect group may be small, but it will grow. Keep on praying for a revival. I really believe we can do it. If God can do it for New Life church, He can do it for us too. Let us really be faithful in praying for our prospect lists and if u all need to meet up ur friends to fellowship, u can ask us along too..Let us really maximise our potential and really use our talents. haha.. I can lend a listening ear in times of need. lol. that's my talent? haha. not sure what else are my talents. lol. Im really excited to really grow this CG. Let us hold on to our visions yeah. N283 rock on!
